Morning

Woke up this morning to this:

Breakfast in bed from my sweet man.

Spent my week soaking up the sunshine every second I can get. I finished up my painting out on the balcony yesterday morning, which is so exciting for me (photos to come) and I keep trying to get in morning runs and evening walks, but its hard to muster up the energy when I wake up and at the end of the day. I'm lazy. Now its deary again, so I have to wait for the sun to come back out to play. Did a few errands this morning and plan to do nothing with my husband this weekend which is exactly what I want to do :)

Playing Along

I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon and play along with silly traditions like valentines day or St. Pattys day or Easter. Not in the way most Americans do, anyway. With the hearts, the drinking, the bunnies and eggs. But,  i figured I might as well play along this year and throw on a green shirt and make some green (delicious) cupcakes for good ol' st patties day. It was a nice day. Not because it was a holiday, but because it was one of the only days in the last few weeks i've got to spend all day with the love of my life. We had breakfast in bed, followed by some errands and some leisurely time at Thompson Park.

Complete with my cream cheese frosting!

This week was definitely not the easiest week. It feels good to have a weekend where I feel good and happy and almost stress free. I am glad my dad is doing better. That has been a huge weight off my shoulders. I am thankful for his recovery. Or, rather, what we have seen of his recovery so far. I am thankful for prayer and for the power it has. I am thankful for all the supportive people in my life. I am thankful for my family. Each and every member. I am thankful for a lot of things this weekend.
Happy Saturday, St. Pattys day, whatever it is you're calling it.

Time for me to snuggle up to my handsome man for sleep time.
Have a good week, everyone!

And, we're back

A couple months ago I found an outrageously good deal on a plane ticket to Virginia Beach and I couldn't pass it up. So, that's where I've been. It was the usual, ordering pizza, playing board games (including angry birds. Don't judge me) My mama and my sister Amantha came out with baby Calvin. It was SO very nice to have us all together. It doesn't feel like a year ago that I was in Virginia Beach waiting for Dugans company to get back from Afghanistan. I am happy to have been in attendance to Andrews 5th birthday and had the opportunity to help with the details- again. It was really fun.

Sadly, vacation always comes to an end. I took a plane back to NY and headed directly to Buffalo with my dearest Elyse to do some light mall wandering and lounging around together. Anyway, It sucks to be back in NY but it feels good to see my kitty and to sit around the house with Silas again. I have less than 2 months left before i go back to Arizona for good! Feels so weird to say that.
